Qatar Charity Donates Mega Orphanage to Da’awah and Relief Organisation in Gombe
A Monument of Compassion and Faith for Orphans in the North-East
In a landmark act of global generosity, the Qatar Charity Foundation has donated a mega orphanage complex to the Da’awah and Relief Organisation in Gombe State, Nigeria. The project, located at the Bypass area of Gombe, stands as a shining example of Qatar Charity’s long-standing commitment to humanitarian development, education, and care for vulnerable children.
The donation reflects Qatar Charity Foundation’s guiding philosophy — to serve humanity with compassion, empower the needy, and uplift societies through sustainable initiatives rooted in faith and mercy.
Speaking during the official visit, the Chairman of Da’awah and Relief Organisation, Dr. Muhammad Lawan, expressed deep appreciation to Qatar Charity Foundation for its monumental contribution to the welfare of orphans and to community development in Gombe State.
“This project is a blessing from Allah through the generosity of Qatar Charity Foundation,” Dr. Lawan said. “It stands as a home for orphans, a center of learning, and a sanctuary of faith. We are profoundly grateful for this act of mercy and for the vision that drives Qatar Charity’s global humanitarian work.”
Dr. Lawan also extended gratitude to His Excellency, Alhaji Muhammadu Inuwa Yahya, the Governor of Gombe State, for his support in facilitating and ensuring the smooth awarding of the project to the Da’awah and Relief Organisation.
The mega orphanage complex is a state-of-the-art facility comprising a Jumu’at Mosque, hostels, a school, staff quarters, a clinic, and shops, all fitted with modern equipment to ensure a conducive environment for living, learning, and spiritual growth.
The project has been widely praised by community leaders, scholars, and residents who see it as a turning point for social welfare and youth development in the region.
Dr. Lawan affirmed that the Da’awah and Relief Organisation will ensure the orphanage operates with transparency, discipline, and a spirit of service to humanity in accordance with Islamic principles.
“We see this orphanage not just as a building,” he said, “but as a legacy of mercy and a lighthouse for generations yet unborn.”
